Behaviour (ABA) Interventionist/RBT
Location:
Edmonton and surrounding area. Candidate must be willing to travel to client homes within the Greater Edmonton area and its outlying communities including Sherwood Park, Leduc, St. Albert, Spruce Grove, Beaumont, and Devon.
Hours of work:
This is a part-time contract-based position and includes weekday and evening shifts and some weekend availability.
Responsibilities:
- Work with children diagnosed with Autism and other Developmental Disabilities (supervised by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst [BCBA]).
- Implement ABA therapy in 1:1 DTT and NET in the homes of the clients.
- Monitor child’s progress through data collection and graphing.
- Provide parent training, education, and support services.
- Administer Functional Assessments with supervision of BCBA.
- Collaborate to develop individual and/or group goals and strategies.
- Identify additional service needs as appropriate and assist family in accessing services.
- Provide modeling techniques and strategies.
- Communicate with Senior Therapist, BCBA, and parents on an on-going basis.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
Skills & Qualifications:
- One year of experience of working and teaching children with special needs (Autism included).
- A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends (until 7pm and occasional Saturdays);
- A College Diploma or University Degree in a related field.
- ABA/Autism-related Diploma/Certificate is an asset (RBT, BCaBA, pursuing BCBA designation).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and a willingness to learn.
- Current clear Vulnerable Security Sector Police Check.
- Up-to-date First Aid and CPR training.
